Minutes of the Hall, Management Community Engagement meeting of Brereton and Ravenhill Council held at the Parish Hall, Ravenhill Park, Brereton on Thursday 5th October 2023.

1 Welcome & Apologies
Cllrs Present:Sue Merriman (SM)(Chair), Caroline Davies (CD)(Vice Chair), Miles Blackham (MB), Alison Cowdell (AC), Rebecca Hall-Davies (RH-D , Kay Paul (KP), Ruth Hall (RH)
Cllrs Absent: Dana Blockside (DB), Carl Boulton (CB), Mr John Smith (JS)(RFO/Caretaker)

3 Minutes
To consider and approve/sign the following council minutes:
Minutes approved and signed Parish Hall and Property Management Committee minutes of 7th September 2023
4 Matters Arising
None
5 Hall and Management
Finance Report – Report to be taken to full Council
Review rates for different groups – Rates to be reviewed and letters sent to regular hires, ready to be in place for January 2024
Policies update – Everyone asked to read latest policies ready for agreement at full Council
Energy bills review and update – Internet cannot be edited until after Xmas, Electric/Gas has been upgraded and itemised bill will presented to finance meeting
Ro oh of cleaning, two more quotes to review and action – final quote will be in a couple of days, agreed to approved at finance meeting
Quotes for solar panels/update – CD is working on this and has a meeting set up.
Follow up on climate action fund – need information to be able to apply for grant – Deadline for application is end of Dec SM to contact energy saving company who worked on the Brereton area.
Water pressure, need surveying – contact severn trent JB to action
Large Functions – suggestion to create a party type ‘wedding fayre’ using local party people to showcase what they do and have the hall photo/videoed.
6 Community Engagement
Christmas Lights- Sub group working on final paper the whole process is almost complete CD, BHD. SC is unrepairable and missing blower, a replacement light up to replace.
Community Events – SM had discussed an afternoon tea and bingo with RH. RH would check dates with Ruby, including the indoor carboot. An application is to be made to Brereton Million community fund to help get the Afternoon tea and Bingo sessions started. Closing date 23rd October.
Volunteer Day – Cleaning the Main Road, SM reported BM had covered the insurance and Risk assessment and advertising and letters were going to all residents on the main road asking if they could help or leave their brown bins out. 21st October. Advertising as a joint project between us both. BM were also running a free farmers day this day giving out free vegetables and refreshments so this was a good day and if we put it off any further we are at risk of bad weather.
