BRERETON AND RAVENHILL PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of a meeting of the Planning Committee held at the Parish Hall, Ravenhill Park, Brereton,
on Tuesday, 6th March 2018.
Present
Councillors TA Jones [Chairman], Mrs P Ansell and PA Fisher.
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors GN Molineux, N Parton and
Mrs HJ Southwell.
Mr PG Davies, the Parish Clerk, was also in attendance.
1. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
There were no declarations given at the commencement of the meeting.
2. MINUTES
RESOLVED
That the minutes of the meeting held on 6th February 2018, be approved and signed as a
correct record.
3. PLANNING DECISIONS
The Committee noted details of the following planning decisions:-

Single storey extension to stock shelter

Demolition of existing public house and associated buildings and the erection of a
replacement office building with mixed D1/B1 use

4. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
RESOLVED
That the following comments be submitted to the District Council on the planning
applications listed below:-

Discharge of condition 2 for planning permission CH/17/411
Towers Business Park, Wheelhouse Road.

Removal of condition 1 to planning permission CH/17/411 to allow for the permanent siting of
storage containers
Rugeley Self Storage, Towers Business Park, Wheelhouse Road.

49 Lodge Road.
No objection but as the development is wholly within a residential area, the Parish Council
would request the inclusion of a condition to prevent construction work, deliveries and
collection of materials during nights, bank and public holidays, Saturday afternoons and
Sundays.

24 Lodge Road.
No objection subject to the District Council being satisfied there would be no adverse effect
on the amenities of No. 22 Lodge Road and as the development is wholly within a residential
area, the Parish Council would request the inclusion of a condition to prevent construction
work, deliveries and collection of materials during nights, bank and public holidays, Saturday
afternoons and Sundays.
5. CANNOCK CHASE DISTRICT COUNCIL BUDGET 2018-2019 – CHANGES TO
CONSULTATION ARRANGEMENTS AND PRE-APPLICATION CHARGES FOR MAJOR
PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee noted that with effect from 1st April 2018, the following changes would be
made by Cannock Chase District Council:-
planning applications would be forwarded to Parish/Town Councils for comment by
electronic means only;
charges would be introduced for pre-application advice on major planning
applications.
6. HEDNESFORD NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
The Clerk reported that Cannock Chase District Council were now consulting on the
Hednesford Neighbourhood Plan. The consultation period would run for six weeks from
12th February to 26th March 2018.
7. CANNOCK CHASE DISTRICT COUNCIL – STRATEGIC HOUSING AND EMPLOYMENT
LAND AVAILABILITY ASSESSMENT
The Committee noted that the District Council was in the process of producing a 2018
update to the SHLAA and ELAA which were originally published in October 2017. The
authority was inviting any updates to information on existing sites and information on any
new, additional sites that the Parish Council considered should be included. Responses
were requested by 1st April 2018.
8. ARMITAGE WITH HANDSACRE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
The Clerk reported that this plan was out for consultation. The closing date for responses
was 6th April 2018.
Copies of the e-mail from Lichfield District Council, advising the Parish Council of this matter,
would be circulated to those Members present at the meeting.
9. CANNOCK CHASE DISTRICT COUNCIL – LOCAL PLAN UPDATE
The Clerk reported that the District Council was now ceasing work on the Local Plan Part 2
to undertake an overall review of the Local Plan process in the light of recent government
changes.

The Committee noted that the District Council intended to consult on the scope of the new
local plan. Once the relevant documents had been drafted, the Council would be organising
a series of consultation events to take place over the summer months.
