5. PA: CH/17/237 – TALBOT INN
The Chairman had requested that this item be included on the Agenda.
The Committee noted that a local resident had advised that in recent weeks there had been
increased activity at the property. A lorry driver delivering planks and scaffolding poles had
stated that the building was so unsafe, it needed to be shorn up. He had also advised that
vandals had broken into the property and had burst a water pipe, resulting in the cellar being
under four feet of water which had, in turn, damaged the sandstone foundations.
RESOLVED
That the Clerk inform the District Council that the Parish Council is most concerned that the
Talbot Inn continues to be damaged by a level of unnecessary neglect that no responsible
landowner would share and ask that the Authority treats with scepticism any claims that the
burst water pipe was other than the responsibility of the landowners.
