BRERETON AND RAVENHILL PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of a meeting of the Parish Hall Management Committee held at the Parish Hall, Ravenhill
Park, Brereton, on Wednesday, 7th November 2018.
Present
Councillors R Easton [Chairman], K Ansell, Mrs DM Easton, Mrs G Harvey and GN Molineux.
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Mrs P Ansell, Miss IJ Brown and
Miss C Harvey.
Mr PG Davies [Parish Clerk] was also present.
1. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
No declarations of interest were given at the commencement of the meeting.
2. MINUTES
RESOLVED
That the minutes of the meeting held on 3rd October 2018, be approved and signed as a
correct record.
3. PARISH HALL – PROGRESS REPORT
Hire Fee Income – Update
The Committee noted details of hire fee income for the month of October 2018 as compared
with the same period the previous year.
SSE Energy – Electricity
The Clerk reported that following consultation with the Chairman, he had arranged new oneyear competitive contracts with SSE for the supply of both gas and electricity at the Parish
Hall.
RESOLVED
That the action taken be approved and confirmed.
CCTV – Further Enhancement
The Chairman reported that he was continuing to liaise with PAB Alarms regarding the
provision of three more cameras for the Parish Hall. It was hoped that the cameras would
be installed within the next two weeks.
New Dance and Drama Group
The Clerk was pleased to report that a new Dance and Drama Group would be using the
Parish Hall with effect from 22nd November 2018.
Drama Academy
The Committee noted the circumstances regarding the use of the Parish Hall by the Drama
Academy. The organiser had indicated she would not be returning to use the facility until
15th January 2019.

RESOLVED
That the Clerk inform the organiser that any further cancellations for the use of the Parish
Hall would be charged at the standard rate and if this was not acceptable, the booking would
be cancelled altogether.
4. FINANCE REPORT
The Report of the Clerk, showing the income and expenditure of the Parish Hall as at
3rd October 2018, was received for information and noted.
5. CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
The Clerk reported that Staffordshire PFI Highway Lighting had given their approval to the
Parish Council’s proposals for the provision of Christmas lights. They had pointed out that
column C9 Main Road, Brereton, was currently leaning and they would be carrying out work
to realign the column on 13th November 2018.
Lighting Futures had advised that the socket had been installed in C29. They had pointed
out that C4 had no electrical connection for festive attachments.
RESOLVED
1. That the Clerk ascertain whether the work to C9 would involve reinstatement or
replacement because if the latter, new connections would be required.
2. That Lighting Futures be advised that the electrical connection for C4 Brereton Road
had been incorrectly installed in C4 Main Road, Brereton, and would require transfer
when the features were erected.

That the next meeting be held on 9th January 2019, at 7.30 p.m.
