There is no way of predicting when the committee will be presented with a planning application, which needs their consideration. As such there is a need for flexibility in the manner of their discussions. If email comments are requested the Chair will set a deadline date after which it will be assumed all comments have been received. Meetings will be held as and when required, but at least 5 clear days prior to the closing date. Usually, these will be arranged immediately prior to all other meetings on the third Thursday of the month, prior to the Full Council. All meetings will be published on the council’s website and Facebook page.

The applicant has had this application refused. The applicant sought advice from the Chair of the Planning Committee as they wanted to appeal. A member of the Planning Committee explained to the house owner what the process involved and what steps were needed to be followed. This advice involved the address and telephone number of the relevant department to contact and what forms they needed to request.
The Planning Committee on behalf of the Parish Council had no objections to this application.

The meeting decided that the proposal would have to fully adhere to the allowed percentage increase within the building regulations regarding an extension.
The Planning Committee on behalf of the Parish Council had no objections to this application, but will fully support the decision of the Development Control of Cannock Chase District Council.

The members of the meeting had been unable to find any evidence that the building had previously been used as a Care Home. A great deal of discussion followed which echoed the comments expressed in the official police report. The Philomena Protocol was also discussed. The meeting felt that the proposal didn’t explain fully how the need for additional parking would be met and whether the boundary fencing would have to be upgraded,
The Planning Committee on behalf of the Parish Council had no objections to this application, but will fully support the decision of the Development Control of Cannock Chase District Council.
6.4 CH/24/023 Springs Farm, Coalpit Lane Brereton WS15 1EW Erection of a machinery store Date Registration 25 Jan 2024 Closing Date: 20 Feb 2024 https://planning.agileapplications.co.uk/cannock/application-details/26954
The meeting was aware that there are vehicles/machinery already parked in this area. Some existing farm buildings are nearby. It was mentioned that previous planning permission for a different development had been refused. Some parishioners have expressed their concerns that this application may in the future lead to the former being reapplied for, or a change of use of this proposal being sought. The meeting felt there wasn’t enough information to support this application. There were no detailed plans of dimensions and so no way of deciding what effect this would have on the surrounding houses.
The Planning Committee on behalf of the Parish Council does not support this application and has expressed their objection to the Development Control of Cannock Chase District Council.

The meeting discussed several issues which were of concern of this proposal involving noise, opening times and smell. A need for the installation of a hygiene plan to ensure that the additional odours coming from the premises drifting into the neighbouring houses could be minimised. Whether it is planned to become a ‘footfall’ premises with vehicles continually arriving/departing at extended times of the day.
The Planning Committee on behalf of the Parish Council had no objections to this application, but will fully support the decision of the Development Control of Cannock Chase District Council.
6.6 CH/24/032 39 Attlee Crescent Brereton, Rugeley WS15 1BP Erection of an ancillary dwelling to the rear of 39 Attlee Crescent Date Registration: 5 Feb 2024 Closing Date: 26 Feb 2024 https://planning.agileapplications.co.uk/cannock/application-details/26977
The meeting is aware of the strict planning laws regarding the building and use of a brick built garden room to be used with the intention of sleeping in. If the applicate meets all those legal requirements then the Planning Committee on behalf of the Parish Council had no objections to this application, but will fully support the decision of the Development Control of Cannock Chase District Council.
