The Chairman circulated a draft response to this Local Plan Review.
RESOLVED
That the draft letter be approved for submission to Lichfield District Council.
CCDC – CALL FOR SITES 2019
The District Council had advised that they were producing a 2019 update to the Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment.
A ‘Call for Sites’ submission could now be made in response to the update. The deadline for comments was 8th March 2019.
Members considered that the following sites be included in the response to the District Council:-
land at Rugeley Town Station and the site of the Old Pear Tree School. These sites were potentially suitable for housing but it was important that the District Council were aware of the problematic issues relating to the junction of Wharf Road with Brereton Road. Access to the site would be preferable from Queensway, with a new roundabout or traffic lights being provided where Queensway and Sandy Lane meet;
the provision of adequate employment land on the Power Station site was a critical issue for the Parish Council. Members would wish to see every effort being made to facilitate those businesses that wished to move from Redbrook Lane being re-located to the Power Station site.
RESOLVED
That the Clerk submit the foregoing comments to the District Council.
