BRERETON AND RAVENHILL PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of a meeting of the Planning Committee held at the Parish Hall, Ravenhill Park, Brereton,
on Tuesday, 6th November 2018.
Present
Councillors TA Jones [Chairman], Mrs P Ansell and PA Fisher.
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors GN Molineux and N Parton.
Also Present: Councillors K Ansell and Mrs W Fisher.
Mr PG Davies, the Parish Clerk, was also in attendance.
1. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
There were no declarations given at the commencement of the meeting.
2. MINUTES
RESOLVED
That the minutes of the meeting held on 2nd October 2018, be approved and signed as a
correct record.
3. PLANNING DECISIONS
The Committee noted the following planning decisions:-
Approvals
CH/18/268
Decommissioning, dismantling and demolition of Rugeley B Power Station.
CH/18/270
New picnic area to replace existing smoking shelter/bike shelters. New surface treatment
with bounded gravel and artificial grass, new 4 x canopies, Ballard lighting, planters, picnic
benches, benched seating and relocation of existing bike shelter.
Amazon, Towers Business Park.
Refusal
CH/18/288
New detached dwelling on vacant land at the side of 32 Attlee Crescent.
4. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee noted that the following planning application would be considered by the
Planning Control Committee at its meeting on Wednesday, 14th November 2018, at 3.00

Retention of hard surface area and proposed stable block
Land off Colliery Road.
Members noted representations made by the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural
Beauty Joint Committee on this planning application.
RESOLVED
That the Parish Council object to CH/18/354 by fully supporting the comments of the Joint
Committee of the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and, in addition, the
following points be drawn to the attention of the District Council:-
brick and tile construction – totally inappropriate;
too much hardstanding;
the fencing is unsightly and harmful to the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
